The Great Pumpkin Story

Posted by tasha Posted on Jul - 09 - 2011

There once was a lonely princess pumpkin growing on an organic farm in Valley Center one warm November morning. This was the last pumpkin to be picked that season. All of the other pumpkins had ripened and been picked by mum and dad to use in my treats several days earlier. Well, this princess pumpkin was small and still green, but looked almost mature. So, mum gently twisted on the pumpkin’s stem to free it from the earth, and brought it home to ripen near a window-sill.

Mum and Dad waited months for this princess pumpkin to ripen. The pumpkin remained a pale green for what seemed like forever. Then, as if overnight, the pumpkin started to blush and change colour! Just last week were my mum and dad able to cut open that pumpkin for the Pumpkin Pie treats :-)

After my dad opened the pumpkin, Mum noticed the seeds inside the pumpkin had sprouted! Now that’s a nutrient rich pumpkin!

I hoped you like my story.

Cheers!
